Key Initiatives

Launch a Statewide Marketing and PR Campaign
Time period: 11/1/22-12/31/23
Goal: Massachusetts CASA will raise public awareness about CASA through a campaign to be launched during National Foster Care Month in May. The outcome will be increased volunteer recruitment and name recognition with specific focus on reaching communities that are currently underrepresented within the CASA network. A second phase of the campaign is expected for the end of 2023.

Develop a Robust Statewide Volunteer Training Program
Time period: 11/1/22- 11/15/23
Goal: Massachusetts CASA will lead in the development of a robust statewide training and professional development plan for CASA volunteers. The result will be increased opportunities for training and community-building.

Increase the Number of Children with CASAs Across the Commonwealth
Time period: Ongoing
Goal: Massachusetts CASA will be a catalyst for statewide CASA growth and expansion. This will be accomplished through conducting a feasibility study to explore growth opportunities for existing programs, as well as expansion into unserved counties. Massachusetts CASA will also assist in the launch of CASA of Bristol County and be a thought partner to the Commonwealth’s seven CASA programs as they create a vision for their own growth and expansion.

Establish and Implement a Statewide Public Policy and Advocacy Agenda
Time period: Ongoing
Goal: Massachusetts CASA will lead in the development and implementation of a well-coordinated and highly-effective statewide public policy agenda.

Develop a Program Evaluation Plan
Time period; 1/15/23-12/15/23
Goal: In partnership with local CASA programs and an evaluation partner, Massachusetts CASA will develop a plan for measuring its efficiency, effectiveness, and impact. Implementation is expected in late 2023.
